When you’re vegan, eating out can be a real struggle. It’s tough enough trying to find something decent that’s vegetarian on a standard restaurant menu, but when it comes to finding vegan food, it’s even harder. Most restaurants will offer a couple of vegetarian options, but often there’s nothing vegan on the menu, so you have to ask for dishes to be changed, that makes me feel a little awkward. Also, you get so little choice! My friend is a vegan, but they can’t stand mushrooms, you can imagine how hard it is for them trying to find something they can eat on most restaurant menus!
Luckily, every single dish on the V Spot dinner menu is vegan, the choice can seem almost overwhelming when you’re not used to it!
Before I was vegan, one of my favorite meals was lasagne, my mother made a gorgeous lasagne and it always brings back memories of my childhood. The lasagne at V-Spot is a brilliant vegan twist on a traditional lasagne and it’s certainly worth trying, even meat eaters find this version irresistible! It’s made with a vegan meat sauce and cashew ricotta, there’s lots of oozing vegan mozzarella, and what makes it extra special is the marinara made with kosher wine.
Burger lovers will find the California Burger truly delicious. It’s a lentil patty, this is dense and filling. It’s served in a sprouted Ezekiel bun, healthy and tasty. The burger is topped with sauteed onions adding a ton of extra flavor, and slices of fresh avocado, lettuce and tomato. You even get vegan mayo on it! Order this, with a side of twice cooked Belgian-style fries and you’ve got a really amazing meal.
Our final suggestion is the Plato Casado. Read the menu description and it sounds like a pretty simple dish. Brown rice, red beans with mixed vegetables. But, the seasoning and garlic make this dish a real taste sensation. It has to be tried to understand just what I mean, but trust me, you won’t be disappointed. There’s nothing bland about this dish!
